Friday November 19

What Colours presents…
Who Laidback Luke
Where The Arches, Glasgow
How Much £15
The Essentials Over the summer Laidback Luke proved popular with various crowds all over Ibiza; so much so it was even rumoured he’d annoyed Pete Tong when he played at Tong’s night Wonderland in Eden as Tongy felt he had out shone him. Not only is he a master behind the decks but also one of the nicest DJs you could meet, anyone who was on the Mixmag/DSI holiday can vouch for this, as he met them all after his performance. He isn’t playing many UK venues on his tour so catch him while you can!

What Bang, Bang presents MEGA MEGA MEGA
Who Count & Sinden, Mr Noisy & BITR8
Where Junk, Southampton
How Much £6
The Essentials Already a well established club night in London MEGA MEGA MEGA joins up with Bang, Bang and ventures to Southampton. Established DJs in their own right, the duo launched a new album last month. Expect to be shown how to “have a good time”.
Verdict GREAT GREAT GREAT

What Bedrock
Who John Digweed, Josh Wink, Nic Fanciulli
Where The Warehouse Project, Manchester
How Much £17.50
The Essentials If you haven’t been to Warehouse Project it is some thing you need to get involved with. WHP is only open 3 months of the year and with the New Year’s day closing party fast approaching you don’t have much time to get in! Most of the nights are already sold out, but last time we checked there are still a few tickets left for tonight!

What Back2Basics 19th Birthday
Who Derrick Carter, The Blessed ft. Robert Owens, Burnski
Where Stinky’s, Leeds
How Much £15
The Essentials This is the second time round for Derrick, who also headlined the Back2Basics birthday last year. As the name suggests the B2B ethos is that music is the most important part of the night. Instead of fancy decor and pretentious posers the emphasis is purely having a good old rave; it must be a winning formula as nineteen years is a long time for a club night.
Verdict Not too Stinky

What Xplicit
Who Chase & Status, Liam Bailey
Where HMV Picture House, Edinburgh
How Much £14
The Essentials This is early doors starting at 7pm so is a gig rather then a club night; however Chase & Status are amazing live and they are DJs so they are worth a mention. The duo who have just finished their next album are fast building a very strong fan base; their shows always bring in a big crowd so you are in for a treat.
Verdict You’ll defiantly want to stay to the end credits

What Shogun Audio
Who Friction, Nero, Spectrasoul, D Bridge
Where Digital, Brighton
How Much £12.50
The Essentials Set in a club which has one of the best sound systems in the world (although not advisable to climb up) it is a perfect venue for a drum and base night. Its always good when a DJ is enjoying the night as much as you are, they seem to play better. Friction is on home territory here and if his twitter page is anything to go by it sounds like he’s really looking forward to this week’s gig.
Verdict Let’s Get Digital
